Ultrasound

In 2023 team members attended the Austere and Prehospital Care Ultrasound (APUS) course run by the College of Remote and Offshore Medicine (CoROM).

The APUS course is an intensive two-day exposure to ultrasound as a point of care diagnostic modality for a variety of austere and prehospital clinical presentations. Including assessing hydration status, echocardiography and gaining vascular access.

The College of Remote and Offshore Medicine (CoROM) is a degree awarding college which attracts an international cohort of students onto its undergraduate and postgraduate courses. While based in Malta, CoROM has a wide reach across Europe and Africa, providing teaching and clinical placement opportunities across both continents.

CoROM is leading the way in Europe for austere and prehospital training of PoCUS and prolonged field care.
