The evolving landscape of chest trauma treatment has led to the recognition of regional anaesthesia as a solution for analgesia in cases of multiple rib fractures.
Among these evolving techniques, the serratus anterior plane block (SAPB) has gained prominence and popularity. While it has been documented as a landmark guided technique, the use of ultrasound is generally advised. The block has also been successfully performed in the emergency department and prehospital arena during aeromedical transfer.
