Nursing Care and… SHEEP VOMIT?

The acronym SHEEP VOMIT is a helpful reminder for the various elements of PFC in nursing care (presented below).

It’s important to note that these tasks are not exclusive to nurses but are the responsibility of all healthcare professionals – so perhaps continuing to call them “nursing care” is a bit old fashioned!

SHEEP VOMIT can also be presented in the form of a nursing care checklist, which will be familiar to anyone who has worked on a critical care unit and details how frequently each intervention should be performed:
